My name is Sebastian Chodorowski and I'm the Creative Content Intern and left back for the U18 Boys team at SoccerViza.
What made me wanna play for SoccerViza was the environment at the club. What I mean by that is there’s a respect between coaches and players. Every session is taken seriously and teaches you how to play football properly. You also learn about the many opportunities that the club offers to players.
I wanted to intern for SoccerViza because of the experience I could gain working with Nick and JP (media team). I wanted to learn more about how media works at a company and what stuff goes on behind the scenes. I'm very interested in media and this will help show me if this is something that I want to pursue as a career in my life.
Why Should People Consider an Internship?
I think more people at my age (17) should intern because it gives them experience. If you know what you wanna do in the future, getting experience early could only help you out in college and look very good for future employers helping you stand out from the rest of the bunch because of your experience. However, if you don’t know what you want to do in the future, interning somewhere can help push you in the right direction regarding career paths.
Responsibilities in the Office:
I’m actually doing a lot at the office. Coach Nick always has me doing something although sometimes it can be a little strenuous, but it’s all part of the job so I don’t mind. I help create content for future posts on social media and also help with story suggestions and logistics. The project I'm currently working on is building up the SoccerViza FC Tik Tok. I've been posting regularly and trying to get more viewers to know who we are.
What You've Learned?
The main thing that I have learned is that there’s a lot more planning and work that goes into running social media for a company. It's not easy and it can be a lot of work at times, but in the end, as long as you’re proud of what you’ve done and you’ve made genuine contributions to the social media, it’s worth it.
I see myself on a professional pitch within the next 5 years. If that doesn't work out, I will be working somewhere I love.
I look forward to my growth at SoccerViza.
