My name is Riley Caney and I am a player for the U12 Girls Black team.
This is my first year playing at SoccerViza and I could honestly say the practices are always really fun and the coaches are very caring. Coaches are great teachers. My favorite drill is passing through sticks. It helps me get better with my non dominant foot and also with my accuracy.
My favorite player is Carli Lloyd because she scored an amazing goal from half field. My older brother also plays for Staples High School so they’re my favorite team. I want to play for them when I am in high school as well.
One time, an offensive player on the other team got past our goalie and I recovered quickly. As the player on the other team shot the ball, I slid towards the ball as it was going in and denied the other team from getting a goal.
To Other Players:
We all need to work on our non-dominant foot. I play center d and I need to practice on both my right and left feet so I can pass to my outside defenders. I also need to work on communicating with my teammates.
In my free time, I like to watch The Office and play basketball.
Thoughts on the U12 Girls Black?
"When Riley came home from tryouts, the first thing she said was, "That was so much fun.” The decision was made. Now playing on the U12 Girls Black, the girls work well together. They complement each other and have blended as a team. They try their hardest and we think that makes the team unique,” said Riley’s parents.
