SoccerViza Football Club’s U15 Boys and U12 Boys reached the finals at AC Connecticut’s MLK Futsal Tournament.
“It was great seeing players from the U12 Black and the U12 White come together for this tournament,” said Juan Gonzalez, coach for the U12 Boys White. “Watching the boys get to the final and give it their all against a team we beat in the first game makes me so proud. At SoccerViza, not only do players from different teams train together at times, but they also have a chance to play games together through additional tournaments.”
The U12 Boys Black/White had two wins and one loss in the group stage and advanced to the finals after a win in penalties.
Coach Dilman Recinos, was very excited going into the weekend because this was his first tournament as the head coach for the U15 Boys Black.
“We have been training very hard since our winter season began,” said coach Recinos. “Our team played very well. The chemistry and the identity were there throughout the whole tournament. We played a possession-oriented style of play but very quick in the attacking third."
The U15 Boys Black also won two games and lost one in the group stage. In the finals, despite the loss, the U15 Boys Black lost to a team they had already beat in the group stage.
